The Trip Itself

The actual trip went fairly smoothly while traveling with a baby. We had a rental car and made sure to pick the biggest car possible. One, we had a lot of stuff. Two, larger vehicles more easily fit carseats.
Across the trip, we stayed in two hotels. We are a Marriott family and they offer pack and plays or cribs upon request. While we had requested a pack and play on each reservation, neither hotel actually had it ready or noted. We had to request it from the front desk each time. Luckily they had plenty available. Just to be safe, I would probably call the hotel a day or two in advance of future trips to make sure they have it noted that we need a pack and play.
As a fall back, we did bring a travel bassinet with us. Super small and compact. It folds up and could fit in a suitcase easily. Since we had the pack and plays, we ended up using the travel bassinet as our changing station in each hotel. But, it was reassuring to know we had a back up if needed.
As for activities and dining out with the baby, the Doona was the way to go! It's small, narrow, and the handle goes down. We often could fit is easily next to our table at restaurants and it didn't block any views or aisles.
On the trip, we ended up having to wash a few outfits in the sink/shower and letting them air dry. We thought we packed a ton of onesies, but babies always get you when you least expect it! We also planned ahead and brought nasal saline and the snot sucker. We figured with the air travel and much colder climate, it would come in handy. And, it did.
Storing breastmilk was a tad trickier, particularly as many hotels have moved away from actual refrigerators in favor of drink chillers. I ended up getting extra ice and using that to insulate the milk in the drink chillers more thoroughly.
Overall, traveling with a two month old was fairly easy. There were logistics to think about ahead of time, but the actual trip was pretty great because she slept so much. We enjoyed all our meals as normal because she would fall asleep nearly instantly in the Doona.
If you feel up for a trip, I say go for it!
